"All of us made a plea through Mr Gove the Pm, in his press conference, helps it to be clear he was making announcements for England only," said Wales' First Minister.

"It had been disappointing again to locate the Pm finds that such a difficult thing to do. It would have helped. It would have contributed to the clarity."

The First Minister was answering questions from Conservative group leader Andrew RT Davies. Mr Drakeford told him: "Surely that each part of the UK is moving in the same direction. We might be doing it at different speeds as well as in different ways but the essential direction of travel is the same between all of us. We all want to go on lifting restrictions and all sorts of want to do it in a way that keeps people safe."

Mr Drakeford said that keeping individuals the different parts of the UK conscious of the guidelines which apply to them is a "challenge".

"it would have helped if the PM was clearer with people that he was not making an announcement for Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales. I'm sure people at our borders have grown to be more accustomed to this. They've lived through 1 . 5 years of there being differences across the border."

Mr Drakeford will announce on Wednesday the results from the latest overview of the guidelines for Wales. He explained his cabinet will come across on Wednesday morning to finalise the rule changes which will affect Wales.
