The SME Brexit Support Fund may offer you up to lb2,000 to assist with training or professional advice, if your business has as much as 500 employees with no a lot more than lb100 million annual turnover.

Applications will close on 30 June 2021 or earlier if all funding is allocated before date.

What you'll be able to make use of the grant for

You can use the grant for training on:

  • how to accomplish customs declarations
  • how to handle customs processes and employ customs software and systems
  • specific import and export related aspects including VAT, excise and rules of origin

It can be used to help you get professional advice so that your business can meet its customs, excise, import VAT or safety and security declaration requirements.

Who can apply

Your business must:

  • be established within the UK
  • have been established in the UK not less than 12 months before submitting the application, or currently hold Authorised Economic Operator status
  • not previously didn't meet its tax or customs obligations
  • have a maximum of 500 employees
  • have a maximum of lb100 million turnover
  • import or export goods between Great Britain and the EU, or moves goods between Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Your business must also either:

  • complete (or plan to complete) import or export declarations internally for its own goods
  • use another person to accomplish import or export declarations but requires additional capability internally to effectively import or export (for example advice on rules of origin or suggestions about dealing with a logistics)
